Aggregates play a very important role in construction projects of all kinds.

Aggregates make up a key part of the composition of concrete; it can account for between 60% and 80% of the mix. The size and shape of aggregates has a direct impact on the workability, durability and strength of the concrete, as well as the appearance of the surface. Aggregates can be used in foundations as well as the production of concrete.

Our aggregate supply includes sand, shingle (10mm/20mm), ballast, MOT Type 1, 6F5/6F2 crushed concrete and topsoil. We can also supply recycled aggregates.

To prepare for an aggregates delivery, please ensure your site is as clear of debris and obstructions as it can be, and please make sure that access is unobstructed where possible. Of course, certain sites have tricky access by nature – if that is the case, informing us in advance allows us to make plans for an alternative approach.

Gravel makes for good drainage material – the gaps between stones allow water to pass through – the bigger the gaps, the lower the chances of blockages and backlogs of water.

We do provide aggregates for domestic customers – simply contact our team today to discuss your requirements.

Our concrete pumping service is available for domestic clients, yes. Just get in touch with our friendly team today and we’ll see how we can help.

Yes you can. We provide out of hours concrete delivery for domestic and commercial clients – simply give us a call if you need high quality concrete at unsociable hours.

Our concrete pumps are attached to our mixing lorries, and the concrete mix is fed through the pumps, which will have been laid out to reach the exact point where you need the mix. Our deliveries are digitally metered, too, so there’s never too much or too little. Our boom pumps are attached to a hydraulic arm, which allows us to reach up and over buildings to pump concrete – perfect for delivering a batch to the rear of a row of terraced houses, for example.

Make sure access to the site is as clear as possible – our pumps can navigate around, through and over obstacles, but our trucks can’t, so it helps us a lot if we can park as close as possible to your location. If your street is a narrow one or one where many cars often park, please inform us ahead of time so we can devise a new approach.

We have ground line and hydraulic boom pumps available, so we can pump concrete to any point on your site.

Concrete pumping is used for delivering concrete quickly and cleanly to a precise location on a site. Ground pumps can move concrete along bumpy terrain, and through areas with restricted access, meaning that jobs can be completed quickly than would otherwise be tricky and time-consuming.

Concrete pumping brings a number of benefits to a construction project. Firstly, it removes the need for multiple back-and-forth trips with a wheelbarrow, moving heavy loads of concrete to the required spot. It’s clean, too – no spillages, which means no wasted concrete and no time wasted cleaning up, either.

One of the key benefits of concrete pumping is the way it works with awkward locations and places with restricted access. Around corners, through alleyways and even upstairs – ground pumps and hydraulic boom pumps can deliver your concrete exactly where you need it to be.

Concrete, the second most commonly used material in the world, is a blend of ‘aggregates’, such as crushed rocks, gravel and sand. These materials are then bound together and activated by water, forming the mixture that we know as concrete.

Mortar is used to hold materials together. You see it between bricks or stones – it’s comprised of water, sand and cement, with the water used to hydrate the cement and bind the mix together. While it is thicker than concrete, it needs to be replaced every 25-50 years.

Concrete also contains a mixture of water, sand and cement, but with the addition of rocks, gravel or chippings, known as aggregates. These additions enhance the strength of the mix, making it stronger and more durable than mortar. This strength and durability make it ideal for structural projects – it may be reinforced with steel rebar to account for soil settling beneath the structure.

Cement is a binding agent that is most commonly used in the production of concrete. It is made through a process whereby limestone, along with other materials such as clay, is heated in a kiln at 1450°c.

We offer a variety of concrete types for a range of uses. The types we provide include:

On-site mixed: As the name suggests, this type of concrete is mixed on-site, so we can combine various strengths of concrete, allowing us to alter the mix at a moment’s notice to cater for any last-minute changes in requirements.

Ready-mixed: This is a batch of concrete that has been created at a batching plant in accordance with the customer’s requirements and instructions.

Volumetric: Mixed using a volumetric mixing truck, the main benefit of this type of concrete is that the exact amount can be created – no need to worry about paying for too much or not ordering enough.

Concrete is sold by volume, measured in cubic yards. In order to work out how much you need for your project, you must first calculate the area of your project – for rectangular spaces, this is length x width – and you must know how thick your slabs need to be. Once you’ve worked that out, you can use our concrete calculator to determine the exact amount required.

Using our volumetric mixing trucks, we can deliver the exact amount of concrete you require.

While you might think concrete might be messy, we are careful to ensure we leave absolutely no mess or waste through our work.

We serve a wide area throughout London and the surrounding areas.

We offer the same day and next day delivery service, as well as scheduled delivery for your convenience.

This can normally happen the following day, but make sure that the foundation is protected after laying, especially in cold conditions.

Again, usually, the following day, once the concrete is hard enough.

For workshops and greenhouses, a wooden float is required. For garage floors, you can use a wooden or steel float. A tamp finish is required for a substrate to screed finish.

The following are the recommended minimum depths for floor screed:

For domestic use: 100mm

For light commercial use: 125mm

For moderate commercial and vehicle use: 150mm

With normal air temperatures, the concrete is usually ready to be used a week after laying. Ensure it has been correctly cured before doing so.

If your screed flooring is deep enough, it will easily take the weight of a lorry.

Between 75mm and 100mm is the recommended depth for footpath screed.

Concrete Calculator

Working out the amount of concrete you need for a job can be difficult to do, especially if it’s your first time using it for a project. Ending up with too much concrete volume can be unnecessarily costly, and ending up with too little means delays to your work. Luckily, our concrete calculator (UK) solves all your estimation problems and lets you know exactly how much concrete you’ll need for your project.

Whether it’s the amount of ready mixed concrete to be used for concrete slabs, or working out how much needs to be combined with coarse aggregate, we’ve got the solution.

To place your order or to discuss your requirements further please contact our friendly team today who will be happy to help with the concrete mix calculator.
